Monograph
Pyrigesic Mr Tablet contains Thiocolchicoside (4mg) + Aceclofenac (100mg) + Paracetamol (325mg) and is used for this medicine is used. Prescription required.
This medicine is used in the treatment of muscle spasm, back pain, neck pain, muscle stiffness, pain, inflammation, arthritis, fever, period pain, headache, body ache and mild to moderate pain.
This medicine combines 3 active ingredients: Thiocolchicoside, Aceclofenac and Paracetamol. Thiocolchicoside eases painful muscle spasm by reducing the nerve signals that keep the muscle contracted. Aceclofenac blocks the chemicals your body makes at a site of injury or inflammation, which reduces pain, swelling and fever. Paracetamol reduces fever and relieves pain by acting on the parts of the brain that regulate temperature and register pain.
Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. Do not chew, crush or break it unless your doctor has told you to. Take it with or after food. Taking it at about the same time each day helps you remember. Follow the dose and the duration written on your prescription.
Drowsiness, Dizziness, Dry mouth, Weakness, Nausea, Indigestion, Stomach pain, Heartburn, Swelling of the ankles and feet, Rash
This medicine causes drowsiness. Do not drive or operate machinery until you know how it affects you. Use it for the short course your doctor has prescribed — these are not intended for long-term use. Do not stop a long course abruptly without asking your doctor. Take it with or just after food, and for the shortest time that works. Stop and seek urgent care for black or tarry stools, vomiting blood, or severe stomach pain — this group can cause bleeding from the stomach. Long or high-dose use raises the risk of heart attack, stroke and kidney injury, particularly in older people and those already at risk. Avoid if you are dehydrated or have an illness with vomiting or loose motions — the kidneys are vulnerable then. Must be avoided in the last three months of pregnancy. Never exceed the daily maximum printed on the pack. Paracetamol overdose damages the liver, and the damage can be silent for a day or two before it becomes serious. Check every other medicine you are taking. Paracetamol is in a very large number of cold, flu and pain combinations, and the doses add together. If you drink alcohol regularly, or have liver disease, ask your doctor what daily limit is safe for you. See a doctor if fever lasts more than three days, or pain more than five.
Alcohol, sleeping tablets, antihistamines and opioid painkillers all add to the drowsiness, sometimes dangerously. Combining with a blood thinner or aspirin sharply raises the bleeding risk. Reduces the effect of blood pressure medicines and water tablets, and together with them can harm the kidneys. Never take two anti-inflammatory painkillers at the same time. Regular alcohol use increases the risk of liver injury. Tell your doctor if you are on warfarin — regular high-dose paracetamol can affect it.
