Used to treat high cholesterol (elevated LDL/triglycerides) and mixed dyslipidaemia; helps reduce risk of heart attack, stroke and other cardiovascular events in at-risk patients.

Rosuvastatin is a statin that inhibits HMG‑CoA reductase, reducing cholesterol synthesis in the liver. This increases LDL receptor activity and lowers LDL-cholesterol and triglycerides while modestly raising HDL.

Tablet for oral use. Take once daily at the same time each day, with or without food, as prescribed. Swallow whole with water; continue diet/exercise as advised and do not stop without consulting a doctor.

Headache, nausea, abdominal pain, constipation, muscle pain (myalgia), weakness, dizziness, increased liver enzymes

Not recommended in active liver disease or persistent unexplained elevated liver enzymes. Seek medical help for unexplained muscle pain/weakness, especially with fever/dark urine (risk of myopathy/rhabdomyolysis). Use with caution in kidney disease, hypothyroidism, heavy alcohol use, and in elderly; dose adjustments may be needed. Periodic lipid profile and liver function monitoring may be advised.

Cyclosporine (contraindicated/avoid), gemfibrozil and other fibrates (increased myopathy risk), niacin (increased myopathy risk), protease inhibitors (may increase rosuvastatin levels), warfarin/other anticoagulants (may alter INR), antacids containing aluminium/magnesium (reduce absorption; separate dosing), colchicine (myopathy risk)

Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place away from light and moisture. Keep in original blister pack and out of reach of children.
