Prevention of Postpartum Bleeding

Spalcin Injection belongs to a class of medicines called oxytocin receptor agonists. Oxytocin is the hormone that helps in muscle contraction during labor. This medicine binds with oxytocin receptors present on the smooth muscles of the uterus and helps in muscle contractions. These rhythmic contractions of the uterus help in childbirth and prevent excessive bleeding after childbirth.

Your doctor or nurse will give you this medicine. Kindly do not self administer.

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

Report any unusual or heavy vaginal bleeding to your doctor. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, could be pregnant, or are breastfeeding. Keep your review appointments.

Tell your doctor about every medicine, supplement and herbal product you take.

Store as printed on the carton — some injections need refrigeration and must not be frozen. Keep out of the reach of children.
