Telmisartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB). It blocks AT1 receptors, causing blood vessels to relax and widen, which lowers blood pressure and reduces strain on the heart.

Take orally as prescribed, usually once daily at the same time each day, with or without food. Swallow tablet with water; do not stop abruptly without medical advice.

Do not use in pregnancy (can harm the unborn baby). Use with caution in kidney disease, liver impairment, dehydration/low salt state, or history of angioedema. Monitor blood pressure, kidney function (creatinine) and serum potassium, especially after starting or dose changes. Seek help if severe dizziness, fainting, facial/lip swelling, or reduced urine output occurs.

ACE inhibitors (e.g., enalapril), aliskiren (especially in diabetes), potassium supplements/potassium-sparing diuretics (e.g., spironolactone), NSAIDs (e.g., ibuprofen, diclofenac), lithium, diuretics (may increase hypotension risk)

Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place; protect from moisture and direct light. Keep out of reach of children.
