Dissolution of small cholesterol gallstones in patients with functioning gallbladder, Primary biliary cholangitis (primary biliary cirrhosis), Cholestatic liver diseases/raised bile acids as advised by physician

Ursodeoxycholic acid is a hydrophilic bile acid that reduces cholesterol saturation in bile by decreasing hepatic cholesterol secretion and intestinal absorption. It also improves bile flow and protects liver cells from toxic bile acids.

Take by mouth as prescribed by your doctor, preferably with food. Swallow the tablet whole with water; do not crush or chew. Dose and duration depend on body weight and condition (e.g., gallstones or cholestatic liver disease); take regularly and do not stop without medical advice.

Use only under medical supervision in liver/biliary disorders. Not suitable for calcified/non-cholesterol gallstones, non-functioning gallbladder, acute cholecystitis/cholangitis, or complete biliary obstruction. Monitor liver function tests as advised. Seek care if severe abdominal pain, persistent diarrhoea, jaundice worsening, or allergic reactions occur.

Cholestyramine, colestipol, activated charcoal (reduce absorption), aluminium-containing antacids/sucralfate (may reduce effect), estrogen-containing oral contraceptives and lipid-lowering fibrates like clofibrate (may increase gallstone risk), cyclosporine (levels may change—monitor)

Store below 25°C in a dry place, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
