Composition of Acecet-P Tablet

Acecet-P Tablet contains Aceclofenac 100 mg + Paracetamol (Acetaminophen) 325 mg. It belongs to the NSAID (aceclofenac) + Analgesic/antipyretic (paracetamol) class of medicines.

How Acecet-P Tablet works

Aceclofenac is an NSAID that reduces pain and inflammation by inhibiting cyclo‑oxygenase (COX) enzymes and lowering prostaglandin production. Paracetamol acts centrally to reduce pain and fever by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis in the CNS.

How to take Acecet-P Tablet

Tablet: take as advised by the doctor, preferably after food to reduce stomach upset. Swallow with water; do not exceed the prescribed dose or combine with other paracetamol-containing products.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

Take it as soon as you remember. If your next dose is almost due, skip the one you missed — never take two doses together to catch up.

If you take too much

An overdose of this medicine can cause stomach bleeding, kidney failure, drowsiness and fits. It can cause severe and sometimes fatal liver damage, often with no symptoms at all for the first day. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

Side effects of Acecet-P Tablet

Most side effects of Acecet-P are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

Warnings and precautions

Use with caution in patients with history of stomach/duodenal ulcer or GI bleeding, kidney disease, liver disease, heart disease, hypertension, asthma/NSAID allergy. NSAIDs may increase risk of GI bleeding and cardiovascular events; use the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration. Avoid alcohol and other paracetamol products due to liver toxicity risk. Seek medical help for black stools, vomiting blood, severe abdominal pain, swelling, breathing difficulty, or yellowing of eyes/skin.

Do not take Acecet-P if

Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Not for people with an active stomach ulcer, severe kidney or heart failure, or asthma triggered by aspirin or anti-inflammatory painkillers. Not in the third trimester of pregnancy. Not for people with severe liver disease, except under medical supervision.

Interactions with other medicines

Other NSAIDs/aspirin, anticoagulants (warfarin), antiplatelets (clopidogrel), SSRIs/SNRIs, corticosteroids (increased GI bleed risk), ACE inhibitors/ARBs/diuretics (reduced renal function), methotrexate, lithium, cyclosporine/tacrolimus, alcohol, other paracetamol-containing medicines

How to store Acecet-P Tablet

Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place. Protect from moisture and direct light. Keep out of reach of children.

Expert advice for Acecet-P Tablet

Use the lowest dose for the shortest period. If you need a painkiller regularly, see your doctor rather than continuing on your own. Paracetamol is the safer choice for simple fever and headache. Take the lowest dose that works, and leave the stated gap between doses. Seek help immediately after a suspected overdose, even if you feel completely well — treatment works best when it is early.
