How Alfoo-T 10/5 mg Tablet works

Alfuzosin is an alpha-1 adrenergic blocker that relaxes smooth muscles in the prostate and bladder neck, improving urine flow and reducing BPH symptoms. Tadalafil is a PDE-5 inhibitor that increases cGMP leading to smooth muscle relaxation and improved blood flow; it also helps relax urinary tract smooth muscle, improving LUTS.

How to take Alfoo-T 10/5 mg Tablet

Tablet to be swallowed whole (do not crush/chew if extended-release). Usually taken once daily at the same time each day, preferably after the same meal. Take only as prescribed by the doctor; avoid taking with other PDE-5 inhibitors or alpha-blockers unless advised.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

Warnings and precautions

May cause dizziness/fainting due to fall in blood pressure—use caution when standing up, driving, or operating machinery. Avoid use with nitrates (risk of severe hypotension). Use with caution in heart disease, recent stroke/heart attack, severe liver impairment, severe kidney disease, or if prone to priapism. Seek urgent care for chest pain, sudden vision/hearing loss, or erection lasting >4 hours. In BPH, evaluation for prostate cancer may be needed before/while on therapy.

Interactions with other medicines

Nitrates (nitroglycerin, isosorbide), riociguat, other alpha-blockers/antihypertensives (additive hypotension), strong CYP3A4 inhibitors (ketoconazole, itraconazole, ritonavir, clarithromycin), CYP3A4 inducers (rifampicin, carbamazepine, phenytoin), alcohol (increases dizziness/hypotension), grapefruit juice (may increase tadalafil levels)

Alfoo 10mg Tablet PR helps in relieving the symptoms of an enlarged prostate. It does not decrease the size of the prostate. You will feel better within hours or days of starting the treatment. The full effect is usually seen within 2 weeks. Alfoo 10mg Tablet PR may cause dizziness or sleepiness. Do not drive or do anything requiring concentration until you know how it affects you.
