Amoxicillin 500 mg + Clavulanic Acid 125 mg (as potassium clavulanate)
Bacterial infections such as respiratory tract infections (sinusitis, tonsillitis, otitis media, bronchitis, pneumonia), urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, dental infections, and other susceptible mixed infections
Amoxicillin is a penicillin antibiotic that kills bacteria by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis. Clavulanic acid is a beta‑lactamase inhibitor that protects amoxicillin from breakdown by beta‑lactamase–producing bacteria, expanding coverage.
Tablet for oral use. Take as prescribed by the doctor, preferably at the start of a meal to reduce stomach upset. Swallow whole with water and complete the full course; do not stop early even if you feel better.
Common side effects of BARCLAV 625 TAB may include:
Prescription-only antibiotic. Do not use in patients with allergy to penicillins/cephalosporins or history of severe hypersensitivity. Use with caution in liver disease; may cause hepatitis/cholestatic jaundice—seek help if jaundice, dark urine, severe fatigue occur. Dose adjustment may be needed in kidney impairment. Prolonged use may cause superinfection. Seek urgent care for severe rash, breathing difficulty, facial swelling, or severe/persistent diarrhoea (possible C. difficile).
