Amoxicillin is a penicillin antibiotic that inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to bacterial death. Clavulanic acid inhibits beta-lactamase enzymes produced by resistant bacteria, protecting amoxicillin and broadening its spectrum.
Tablet to be taken orally as prescribed by the doctor. Usually taken with food (start of a meal) to reduce stomach upset; swallow whole with water. Take at evenly spaced intervals and complete the full course even if you feel better.

Prescription-only antibiotic; do not use for viral infections. Avoid if allergic to penicillins/cephalosporins or history of severe hypersensitivity. Use with caution in liver disease (may cause hepatitis/cholestatic jaundice), kidney impairment (dose adjustment may be needed), infectious mononucleosis (higher risk of rash). Seek medical help for severe diarrhoea (possible C. difficile), severe skin reactions, or signs of allergy (swelling, breathing difficulty).
