Medically reviewed by Dr. Balaji Krishnan, MBBS · Updated August 2026
Budate 400 Transcaps contains Budesonide (400mcg).
Asthma
Budate 400 Transcaps is a steroid. It prevents the cells in the lungs and breathing passages from releasing chemical messengers that cause inflammation (swelling) of the airways. This makes breathing easier.
Trancaps must not be swallowed. Check the label for directions before use. Place the capsule at the base of transhaler, not in the mouthpiece. Twist the mouthpiece completely until your hear a click and breathe in deeply through the mouthpiece. Hold your breath for up to 10 seconds. If some powder remains in the transhaler repeat the process.
Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.
If you miss a dose of Budate 400 Transcaps, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
Taking more Budate than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.
Most side effects of Budate are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:
Stop the medicine and seek help immediately for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.

Tell your doctor or pharmacist about every medicine you take, including over-the-counter products, vitamins and herbal or ayurvedic preparations, before starting Budate. Some combinations can change how Budate works or raise the chance of side effects.
Store Budate below 30°C in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep the pack tightly closed and out of the reach of children. Do not use it after the expiry date printed on the pack.
Budate 400 Transcaps ‘dampens down’ inflammation in the lungs to provide long-term (maintenance) treatment of asthma and prevent disease progression. Budate 400 Transcaps will not work for an ongoing asthma attack. Use your rescue inhaler to control sudden difficulty in breathing. Take it at the same time every day to prevent asthma attacks. Gargle with warm water after each inhalation to avoid any fungal infections in your mouth and throat. Never breathe out into the mouthpiece. Only minuscule amounts of Budate 400 Transcaps may get absorbed into the bloodstream after inhalation. Hence, serious side effects such or weight gain are unlikely.
