Budesonide (100mcg)
Maintenance treatment and prevention of bronchial asthma, Maintenance treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) where inhaled corticosteroids are indicated
Budesonide is an inhaled corticosteroid that reduces inflammation and swelling in the airways. It decreases airway hyper-responsiveness and mucus production, helping prevent wheeze, cough and breathlessness. It is not meant for immediate relief of an acute asthma attack.
For inhalation use only via mouth. Use regularly as prescribed, preferably at the same times each day. Shake well before each puff, exhale fully, seal lips around mouthpiece, inhale slowly and deeply while pressing the canister, hold breath ~10 seconds, then exhale; wait 30–60 seconds before a second puff if prescribed. Rinse mouth/gargle and spit after use to reduce oral thrush/hoarseness. Use a spacer if advised.

Not for rapid relief—keep a reliever inhaler (e.g., salbutamol) for sudden symptoms. Do not stop abruptly without medical advice. Rinse mouth after each use to prevent fungal infection. Use with caution in active/latent tuberculosis, untreated fungal/viral/bacterial infections, liver impairment, glaucoma/cataract, osteoporosis; prolonged high doses may cause adrenal suppression and slowed growth in children—use the lowest effective dose and monitor. Seek medical help if breathing worsens after inhalation (paradoxical bronchospasm) or if symptoms are not controlled.
