Composition

Metformin hydrochloride 500 mg (as immediate-release tablet)

Uses of Cididap-M 500 Tab

Type 2 diabetes mellitus (to control high blood sugar), prediabetes (as advised), polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) with insulin resistance (off-label/when prescribed)

How it works

Metformin improves insulin sensitivity and decreases glucose production by the liver (hepatic gluconeogenesis). It also reduces intestinal absorption of glucose and improves peripheral uptake, helping lower blood sugar without usually causing hypoglycaemia when used alone.

Directions for use

Oral tablet. Take exactly as prescribed, usually with or after meals to reduce stomach upset. Swallow with water; do not crush unless advised. Dose is individualized; regular monitoring of blood glucose/HbA1c is recommended.
