A substitute contains the same active ingredient (salt), in the same strength, as Cilnikem 10 mg Tablet. The medicine inside is the same — the brand name, manufacturer and price are what differ.
All medicines sold in India, branded or generic, must meet the quality standards set by the national drug regulator (CDSCO). A lower price does not mean lower quality.
Please confirm with your doctor or pharmacist before switching brands — they will check that the strength and form match your prescription.
Cilnikem 10 mg Tablet contains Cilnidipine (10mg).
Treatment of Hypertension (high blood pressure)
Cilnikem 10 Tablet is a calcium channel blocker. It lowers blood pressure by relaxing blood vessels, which makes the heart more efficient at pumping blood throughout the body.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Cilnikem 10 Tablet may be taken with or without food.
Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.
If you miss a dose of Cilnikem 10 Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
Taking more Cilnikem than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.
Most side effects of Cilnikem are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:
Stop the medicine and seek help immediately for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.

Tell your doctor or pharmacist about every medicine you take, including over-the-counter products, vitamins and herbal or ayurvedic preparations, before starting Cilnikem. Some combinations can change how Cilnikem works or raise the chance of side effects.
Store Cilnikem below 30°C in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep the pack tightly closed and out of the reach of children. Do not use it after the expiry date printed on the pack.
Take it at the same time every day to help you remember to take it. A sudden drop in your blood pressure may occur, especially when you first start taking Cilnikem 10 Tablet. To lower the chance of feeling dizzy or passing out, rise slowly if you have been sitting or lying down. It can cause ankle or foot swelling. To reduce the swelling, raise your legs while you are sitting down. Talk to your doctor if it does not go away. Cilnikem 10 Tablet may cause dizziness. Do not drive or perform any activity that requires mental focus until you know how Cilnikem 10 Tablet affects you. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy, or breastfeeding.
