How Contour Plus Elite Kit works

The meter measures glucose in a small drop of capillary blood applied to a compatible test strip. The strip’s enzyme-based electrochemical reaction generates an electrical signal proportional to glucose concentration, which the meter converts to a reading.

How to take Contour Plus Elite Kit

Use only with compatible Contour Plus test strips. Wash and dry hands, insert strip into meter, use lancing device to obtain a small fingertip blood drop, touch blood to strip tip and wait for result. Follow the user manual for coding (if applicable), target ranges, and cleaning; use as often as advised by your doctor.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

Take the missed dose of Contour Plus Elite Kit as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and carry on with the usual schedule. Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed dose.

If you take too much

Taking more Contour Plus Elite Kit than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.

Most side effects of Contour Plus Elite Kit are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:
