Cyclomeff Tablet contains Mefenamic Acid (250mg) + Dicyclomine (20mg). It belongs to the Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug and Antispasmodic class of medicines.

How Cyclomeff Tablet works

Cyclomeff 20 mg/250 mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Dicyclomine and Mefenamic Acid. Dicyclomine is an anticholinergic which works by relaxing the muscles in the stomach and gut (intestine). It stops sudden muscle contractions (spasms), thereby relieving cramps, pain, bloating, and discomfort. Mefenamic Acid is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) which works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that cause abdominal pain and inflammation (swelling). Together, they relieve menstrual cramps and colicky pain.

How to take Cyclomeff Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Cyclomeff 20 mg/250 mg Tablet is to be taken with food.<br>This will help to avoid stomach upset.

Missed dose and overdose

Avoid if you are dehydrated or have an illness with vomiting or loose motions — the kidneys are vulnerable then. Must be avoided in the last three months of pregnancy. Severe abdominal pain, particularly with fever or vomiting, needs a doctor rather than a painkiller or antispasmodic. Do not take Cyclomeff if

Not for people with an active stomach ulcer, severe kidney or heart failure, or asthma triggered by aspirin or anti-inflammatory painkillers. Not in the third trimester of pregnancy. Not for people with glaucoma, urinary retention, or a blockage of the gut.

Interactions with other medicines

Combining with a blood thinner or aspirin sharply raises the bleeding risk. Reduces the effect of blood pressure medicines and water tablets, and together with them can harm the kidneys. Never take two anti-inflammatory painkillers at the same time. Adds to the dry mouth, constipation and drowsiness caused by antihistamines and some antidepressants.
