Dapagliflozin 10 mg (as dapagliflozin propanediol) tablets
Type 2 diabetes mellitus (to improve glycaemic control as an adjunct to diet and exercise); may also be prescribed to reduce risk of hospitalization for heart failure and to slow progression of chronic kidney disease in eligible patients (as per doctor).
Dapagliflozin is an SGLT2 inhibitor that reduces glucose reabsorption in the kidney. It increases urinary glucose excretion, thereby lowering blood sugar, and also causes mild diuresis and weight reduction.
Take orally as prescribed by your doctor, usually once daily, with or without food. Swallow the tablet whole with water; take it at the same time each day. Maintain adequate hydration; monitor blood sugar as advised.
Common side effects of Dapagreat 10 Tab may include:

A substitute contains the same active ingredient (salt), in the same strength, as Dapagreat 10 Tab. The medicine inside is the same — the brand name, manufacturer and price are what differ.
All medicines sold in India, branded or generic, must meet the quality standards set by the national drug regulator (CDSCO). A lower price does not mean lower quality.
Please confirm with your doctor or pharmacist before switching brands — they will check that the strength and form match your prescription.
Not for type 1 diabetes; risk of diabetic ketoacidosis (can occur even with near-normal sugars)—seek urgent care for nausea/vomiting, abdominal pain, rapid breathing, excessive thirst or confusion. Can cause dehydration and low BP, especially in elderly or with diuretics. Higher risk of genital mycotic infections and UTIs; maintain hygiene and report symptoms. Use caution in kidney disease; effectiveness reduces with low eGFR and it may not be recommended below certain eGFR thresholds—follow prescriber advice. Hold before major surgery/acute illness as advised due to ketoacidosis risk. Monitor renal function, electrolytes and volume status. Inform doctor if history of recurrent UTIs, foot ulcers/amputation risk, pancreatitis, or on low-carb/ketogenic diet.
