Desoadd Cream is a mild to moderate strength steroid. It works by blocking the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the skin red, swollen, and itchy.

How to take Desoadd Lotion

This medicine is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Clean and dry the affected area and apply the cream. Wash your hands after applying, unless hands are the affected area.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

If you miss a dose of Desoadd Cream, apply it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your regular schedule. Do not apply extra to make up for a missed dose.

If you take too much

An overdose of this medicine can suppress the body's own steroid production when it is used for a long time over large areas, especially in children. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

Most side effects of Desoadd are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

Warnings and precautions

Use it only on the area and for the number of days your doctor specified. Potent steroid creams thin the skin permanently when used for too long. Never use a potent steroid cream on the face, the groin or the underarms unless your doctor has specifically told you to — the skin there is thin and absorbs much more. Do not use it on an infection. A steroid on ringworm, impetigo or herpes makes the infection worse while hiding it. Do not use leftover cream on a new rash, and never pass it to someone else. Stop and see your doctor if the area becomes more painful, weepy or crusted.

Do not take Desoadd if

Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Not for untreated bacterial, fungal or viral skin infections. Not for use in or around the eyes.

How to store Desoadd Lotion

Store below 30°C, away from direct sunlight. Close the cap tightly after each use. Keep out of the reach of children.

Expert advice for Desoadd Lotion

Desoadd Cream is used to treat the redness, swelling, itching, and discomfort of various skin conditions. It should be applied to the affected areas as a thin film two or three times daily, or as advised by your doctor. Don't use it more often or for longer than advised by your doctor. Don't cover the area being treated with airtight dressings such as bandages unless directed by a doctor, as this may increase the risk of side effects. If you think the area of skin you are treating has become infected you should stop using Desoadd Cream and consult your doctor. Consult your doctor if your skin condition has not improved after four weeks of treatment. Do not use it for more than 4 consecutive weeks at a time.
