Desonide (0.05%w/w)
Moisturiser/skin barrier repair cream used for dry skin (xerosis), rough/scaly skin, and supportive care in eczema/dermatitis where emollients are advised.
Acts as an emollient that hydrates the stratum corneum and reduces transepidermal water loss. By softening and smoothing the skin and supporting the barrier, it helps relieve dryness and irritation.
For external use only. Apply a thin layer to clean, dry affected area 1-3 times daily or as directed by a doctor. Use regularly; avoid contact with eyes and broken/infected skin unless advised.
Common side effects of Desosoft Cream may include:
Stop use and consult a doctor if severe irritation, swelling, or allergic reaction occurs. Do not apply on deep/open wounds unless advised. If used in children, during pregnancy, or on large areas for long durations, consult a healthcare professional. Keep away from eyes; rinse with water if accidental contact occurs.

A substitute contains the same active ingredient (salt), in the same strength, as Desosoft Cream. The medicine inside is the same — the brand name, manufacturer and price are what differ.
All medicines sold in India, branded or generic, must meet the quality standards set by the national drug regulator (CDSCO). A lower price does not mean lower quality.
Please confirm with your doctor or pharmacist before switching brands — they will check that the strength and form match your prescription.
