Uses of Dormide T Eye Drops

Used to dilate the pupil (mydriasis) and relax the eye’s focusing muscle (cycloplegia) for eye examination/refraction; may also be used as directed by an ophthalmologist for certain inflammatory eye conditions.

How Dormide T Eye Drops works

Mydriatic/cycloplegic eye drops work by blocking muscarinic receptors in the iris sphincter and ciliary muscle. This causes pupil dilation and temporary paralysis of accommodation, helping in eye evaluation.

How to take Dormide T Eye Drops

For ophthalmic use only. Instill the prescribed number of drops into the affected eye(s) as advised by the ophthalmologist; wash hands before use, avoid touching the dropper tip, and keep eyes closed for 1–2 minutes after instillation. If using other eye medicines, keep a 10–15 minute gap. Remove contact lenses before use unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

Take the missed dose of Dormide T as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and carry on with the usual schedule. Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed dose.

If you take too much

Taking more Dormide T than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.

Side effects of Dormide T Eye Drops

Most side effects of Dormide T are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

• Temporary blurred vision
• stinging/burning
• eye irritation/redness
• light sensitivity (photophobia)
• watery eyes
• dry mouth
• headache
• increased eye pressure (rare)

Stop the medicine and seek help immediately for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.

Warnings and precautions

May cause temporary blurred vision and light sensitivity—avoid driving/operating machinery until vision clears. Use with caution in glaucoma or those at risk of angle-closure glaucoma; seek urgent care if severe eye pain, redness, halos around lights, or sudden vision changes occur. Use in children/elderly only under medical supervision; systemic anticholinergic effects can occur if overused. Do not use if allergic to any ingredient; do not share eye drops; discard if solution changes color/particles appear.

Interactions with other medicines

Other anticholinergic medicines (may increase side effects), medications that can increase intraocular pressure; inform your doctor about all eye drops and systemic medicines you use.

How to store Dormide T Eye Drops

Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place away from light. Do not freeze. Keep bottle tightly closed. Use within 4 weeks of opening or as per label.
