Medically reviewed by Dr. Balaji Krishnan, MBBS · Updated September 2026
Episoft Ac Spf 50 + 50 g contains Sunscreen lotion/gel containing broad-spectrum UV filters (exact actives/strengths not available). It belongs to the Topical photoprotective (broad-spectrum sunscreen) class of medicines.
It forms a protective film on the skin with UV filters that absorb, reflect and/or scatter UVA and UVB radiation. This reduces UV-induced skin damage and helps prevent sunburn and tanning.
For external use only. Apply generously and evenly on face/neck and other exposed areas 15–20 minutes before sun exposure. Reapply every 2–3 hours, and after swimming, sweating or towel-drying. Avoid contact with eyes; if it occurs, rinse with water.
Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.
Take the missed dose of Episoft Ac Spf as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and carry on with the usual schedule. Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed dose.
Taking more Episoft Ac Spf than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.
Most side effects of Episoft Ac Spf are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:
Stop the medicine and seek help immediately for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.
| Pregnancy | Generally safe (topical); consult doctor if pregnant/breastfeeding and using on large areas or if you have sensitive skin |
|---|---|
| Alcohol | No known interaction |
| Habit forming | No |
Patch test if you have sensitive skin. Discontinue and consult a doctor if severe irritation, swelling or rash occurs. Avoid application on broken/irritated skin. Keep away from eyes and mucous membranes. Sunscreen is only one part of sun protection—use protective clothing and limit midday sun exposure.
No clinically significant drug interactions expected with topical sunscreen; if using other topical acne medicines (retinoids, benzoyl peroxide, acids), use with caution as combined use may increase dryness/irritation
Store below 30°C in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat. Keep cap tightly closed.
