Etodolac 600 mg (sustained/extended release) tablet
Relief of pain and inflammation in osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, acute musculoskeletal pain (sprains/strains), dental pain, postoperative pain
Etodolac is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that inhibits cyclo-oxygenase (COX) enzymes and reduces prostaglandin production. This decreases inflammation, swelling, pain and fever.
Oral tablet. Take exactly as prescribed, preferably after food to reduce stomach upset. Swallow whole with water; do not crush or chew if it is SR/ER. Usually taken once daily for 600 mg SR, or as directed by physician.

NSAIDs may cause stomach/intestinal bleeding or ulcers—risk higher in elderly, those with prior ulcers, alcohol use, or with steroids/anticoagulants. Can worsen kidney function and cause fluid retention; use caution in kidney disease, heart failure, dehydration, and uncontrolled hypertension. May increase risk of heart attack or stroke with long-term/high-dose use; use lowest effective dose for shortest duration. Avoid in known NSAID allergy/aspirin-sensitive asthma. Stop and seek care for black stools, vomiting blood, severe abdominal pain, chest pain, breathlessness, facial swelling, or severe rash. Avoid use after 20 weeks of pregnancy unless advised; contraindicated in last trimester.
