How Folshot D works

How to take Folshot D

If you take too much

An overdose of this medicine is unlikely to cause serious harm, because the body passes surplus B vitamins out in the urine. It can raise blood calcium dangerously, causing thirst, frequent urination, vomiting, confusion and kidney damage. It may cause loose motions and a small increase in bleeding tendency. It in very large doses taken over months can itself damage nerves, causing numbness and unsteadiness. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

Levodopa (without carbidopa) may be reduced by vitamin B6; antiepileptics (phenytoin, carbamazepine, phenobarbital) may lower vitamin D levels; steroids and orlistat can reduce vitamin D absorption; cholestyramine reduces fat-soluble vitamin absorption; anticoagulants/antiplatelets (e.g., warfarin, aspirin, clopidogrel) may have increased bleeding risk with omega-3 (DHA) especially at higher doses; methotrexate/trimethoprim may interact with folate pathways (medical advice needed).
