Iron deficiency anemia, Nutritional anemia due to iron deficiency, Increased iron requirement in pregnancy and lactation (as advised by doctor)
Oral iron supplements replenish body iron stores needed to make hemoglobin in red blood cells. This improves oxygen-carrying capacity and helps reduce symptoms like tiredness and weakness.
Shake well before use. Take the prescribed dose using a measuring cup/spoon. Preferably take on an empty stomach or after food if it causes gastric upset; avoid taking with tea/coffee, milk, or antacids close to the dose (keep a 2-hour gap).
Nausea, abdominal discomfort, constipation, diarrhea, dark/black stools, metallic taste, vomiting
Do not use in iron overload states (e.g., hemochromatosis/hemosiderosis) or non–iron-deficiency anemia unless prescribed. Keep out of reach of children—accidental iron overdose can be fatal. Use with caution in peptic ulcer disease, inflammatory bowel disease, liver disease; may stain teeth—rinse mouth after dose. If severe stomach pain, persistent vomiting, or allergic reaction occurs, seek medical help.
Antacids, calcium supplements/milk, proton pump inhibitors, tetracyclines, quinolone antibiotics (ciprofloxacin/ofloxacin/levofloxacin), levothyroxine, methyldopa, penicillamine, bisphosphonates—separate dosing by 2–4 hours as advised
Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place away from direct light. Keep bottle tightly closed. Do not freeze.
