Composition

Glimepiride 1 mg + Metformin Hydrochloride 500 mg (as sustained/extended release)

Uses of Glimapex-M1 Tab

Type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults, especially when diet and exercise alone or single-drug therapy do not provide adequate glycaemic control

• •Lowers fasting and postprandial blood glucose
• •Improves overall glycaemic control (HbA1c)
• •Combines two complementary mechanisms in one tablet
• •May help reduce diabetes complications with sustained control

How it works

Glimepiride (a sulfonylurea) increases insulin release from the pancreas and improves insulin sensitivity. Metformin reduces glucose production by the liver and decreases intestinal glucose absorption while improving peripheral insulin uptake. Together they lower fasting and post-meal blood sugar.

Directions for use

Oral tablet. Take exactly as prescribed, usually once daily with breakfast or the first main meal (or as advised). Swallow whole (do not crush/chew if extended-release). Regularly monitor blood glucose; follow diet and exercise plan.
