How Glycohale Fb 400/25/12 mcg works

Glycohale FB Rotacap is a combination of three medicines : Glycopyrrolate, Formoterol, and Budesonide. Glycopyrrolate is an anticholinergic medication. It works by blocking the activity of a chemical messenger (acetylcholine) in the brain. Formoterol is a bronchodilator. It works by relaxing the muscles in the airways and widens airways. This makes breathing easier. Budesonide is a steroid which works by blocking the production of certain chemical messengers in the body that cause inflammation (redness and swelling) and allergies.

How to take Glycohale Fb 400/25/12 mcg

Rotacaps must not be swallowed. Check the label for directions before use. Place the capsule at the base of rotahaler, not in the mouthpiece. Twist the mouthpiece completely until your hear a click and breathe in deeply through the mouthpiece. Hold your breath for up to 10 seconds. If some powder remains in the rotahaler repeat the process.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose of Glycohale FB Rotacap, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule.

An overdose of this medicine may be harmful — seek medical advice immediately. It can cause a racing heart, marked tremor, headache and a fall in blood potassium. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

Know which of your inhalers is the reliever and which is the preventer. A preventer must be used every day even when you feel well; a reliever is for symptoms. Seek emergency care if your reliever is not working, if you cannot speak a full sentence, or if you are using the reliever far more often than usual. Rinse your mouth with water and spit it out after every steroid inhaler dose to prevent thrush and hoarseness. Ask your doctor or pharmacist to watch your technique — poor technique is the commonest reason an inhaler seems not to work. Use a spacer if one has been advised, particularly for children.

Gargle with warm water after each inhalation to avoid any fungal infections in your mouth and throat. Do not smoke. Smoking causes irritation and damage to the lungs and will make your condition worse. If you have diabetes you may need to check your blood glucose more frequently, as Glycohale FB Rotacap can affect the levels of sugar in your blood. Your doctor will advise you about this. If you are overweight, it is advisable to lose weight. This is because being overweight means that you have to work much harder to breathe in to inflate your lungs.
