Human insulin (rDNA origin) Injection IP 100 IU/mL (Regular insulin)
Treatment of diabetes mellitus to control high blood sugar in type 1 diabetes and type 2 diabetes when insulin is required; management of hyperglycaemia in diabetic emergencies as advised by doctor
Regular human insulin replaces or supplements the body’s natural insulin. It helps glucose enter muscle and fat cells and reduces glucose production by the liver, thereby lowering blood sugar levels.
Inject subcutaneously as prescribed, usually 30 minutes before meals; may also be given intravenously/intramuscularly only under medical supervision. Use an insulin syringe/pen as instructed, rotate injection sites, do not share needles, and monitor blood glucose regularly.
Common side effects of INSUGEN-R 10ML may include:
Risk of hypoglycaemia—carry glucose/sugar and know symptoms; dose adjustments may be needed with changes in diet, exercise, illness, kidney/liver disease. Do not use during hypoglycaemia. Use caution when switching insulin brands/strengths. Monitor for injection-site lumps (lipodystrophy) and rotate sites. Severe allergy is rare but needs urgent care.
