Maxolid DS Dry Syrup contains Linezolid (100mg/5ml).
Maxolid DS Dry Syrup is an antibiotic. It stops bacterial growth by preventing synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Dissolve the powder in sterile water. Shake well and use. Maxolid DS Dry Syrup may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.<br>Avoid Maxolid DS Dry Syrup with tyramine-rich food such as cheese, smoked fish, meats and some types of beer.
Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.
Take the missed dose of Maxolid DS Dry as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and carry on with the usual schedule. Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed dose.
Taking more Maxolid DS Dry than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.
Most side effects of Maxolid DS Dry are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:
Stop the medicine and seek help immediately for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.
| Pregnancy | Maxolid DS Dry Syrup may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.<br>Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor. |

| Liver | Maxolid DS Dry Syrup should be used with caution in patients with severe liver disease. Dose adjustment of Maxolid DS Dry Syrup may be needed. Please consult your doctor.<br>Limited information is available on the use of Maxolid DS Dry Syrup in these patients. No dose adjustment is recommended in patients with mild to moderate liver disease. |

Store Maxolid DS Dry below 30°C in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep the pack tightly closed and out of the reach of children. Do not use it after the expiry date printed on the pack.
