Composition of Mintop Foam

Mintop Foam contains Minoxidil (2%). It belongs to the Hair growth stimulant / anti-dandruff agent class of medicines.

Uses of Mintop Foam

Treatment of Hair loss Hypertension (high blood pressure) Heart Failure

Key benefits

  • In Treatment of Hair loss MINtop 2% Foam is a medicine used to treat common hereditary hair loss. It can prevent further hair loss and help hair to regrow. It works by increasing blood flow to the hair follicles on your scalp
  • which prevents hair cell death and also enhances new hair growth. It is most effective for baldness or thinning at the top of the scalp
  • but less effective at the front or for receding hairline. Benefits are less likely if you have been bald for many years or have a large area of hair loss. MINtop 2% Foam is not suitable for sudden or unexplained hair loss. It is considered a safe medicine. There are separate products for men and women
  • and you should follow your doctor’s instructions carefully while using MINtop 2% Foam. Regrowth of hair improves your appearance
  • boosts your confidence
  • and enhances your social life. Use it regularly to maintain hair growth and to get the maximum benefits. Consult your doctor if you notice any changes in the hair growth while using MINtop 2% Foam.

How Mintop Foam works

MINtop 2% Foam is a potassium channel opener. Its vasodilation action expands the blood vessels. Therefore, when it is applied to the scalp, it helps to increase blood flow. This increased blood flow provides more nutrition and oxygen to the hair follicles, which prevents hair cell death and also enhances new hair growth. This is how it works to treat your alopecia (hair loss).

This medicine is for external use only. Use this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor.

Warnings and precautions

Topical minoxidil causes a burst of shedding in the first two to eight weeks. This is the old hair making way for new — it is expected, not a failure. Results take three to six months, and stop when you stop. This is a continuing treatment, not a cure. Finasteride must not be handled or taken by anyone who is pregnant or could become pregnant — it causes birth defects. Do not let a pregnant person handle broken or crushed tablets. Apply topical treatments to a dry scalp, not to hair, and wash your hands afterwards. Tell your doctor about any chest pain, dizziness, rapid heartbeat or sudden weight gain with minoxidil.

Do not take Mintop Foam if

Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Not for use on inflamed, broken or sunburnt scalp.

Interactions with other medicines

Avoid applying other scalp products at the same time of day unless advised.

How to store Mintop Foam

Store below 30°C in the original pack, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of the reach of children.

Expert advice for Mintop Foam

Wash your hands before and after application. It should only be applied directly to the scalp. If MINtop 2% Foam accidentally comes in contact with your eyes, nose, or mouth, flush the area thoroughly with cool tap water. Do not shampoo your hair or use a hairdryer for 4 hours after applying MINtop 2% Foam as it can reduce the effectiveness of the medicine. During the first 2 weeks of application, your hair fall may increase. This is normal and is a sign that MINtop 2% Foam is working. Take care that MINtop 2% Foam does not trickle down onto your face as it may cause undesirable facial hair growth.
