How to take Nadoxin-A Gel

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

If you miss a dose of Nadoxin Cream, apply it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

If you take too much

An overdose of this medicine is unlikely from skin use. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

Side effects of Nadoxin-A Gel

Most side effects of Nadoxin-A are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

Warnings and precautions

Use it for the short course prescribed, usually about a week. Prolonged use of a topical antibiotic breeds resistant bacteria. See a doctor if the area becomes more red, swollen, painful or spreads, or if you develop a fever — a spreading skin infection needs tablets. Clean the area gently before each application. Do not use it on large raw areas or burns unless your doctor has said to.

Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Not for use in or around the eyes.

How to store Nadoxin-A Gel

Store below 30°C, away from direct sunlight. Close the cap tightly after each use. Keep out of the reach of children.

Expert advice for Nadoxin-A Gel

Apply Nadoxin Cream to the affected areas two or three times daily, or as advised by your doctor. Do not use it more often or for longer than advised by your doctor. Inform your doctor if your skin problem has not improved after seven days of treatment. Treatment should be continued for at least two days after the condition has resolved. Do not apply it to broken skin and take care to avoid getting it in your eyes, nose, or mouth. Avoid covering the area being treated with airtight dressings such as bandages unless directed by a doctor, as this may increase the risk of side effects. It may cause temporary burning, itching, or redness at the application site. This is usually mild. Consult your doctor if you experience a more severe reaction.
