Nintedanib 100 mg (as nintedanib esylate) tablet
Treatment of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF); other progressive fibrosing interstitial lung diseases (ILDs) and systemic sclerosis–associated ILD (SSc-ILD) where prescribed; may also be used in combination with docetaxel for advanced non‑small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) after first‑line chemotherapy (as per specialist advice).
Nintedanib is a tyrosine kinase inhibitor that blocks multiple receptors involved in fibrosis and abnormal vessel growth, including VEGFR, FGFR and PDGFR. By inhibiting these pathways it slows fibroblast activity and tissue scarring in the lungs, helping to reduce decline in lung function.
Oral tablet/capsule equivalent: take exactly as prescribed by a specialist. Usually taken twice daily about 12 hours apart with food and swallowed whole with water; do not crush or chew. If a dose is missed, skip it and take the next dose at the usual time; do not double the dose.
