Pregaba 50 Capsule contains Pregabalin (50mg). It belongs to the Gabapentinoid; alpha-2-delta calcium channel ligand class of medicines.

How Pregaba 50 Capsule works

Pregabalin binds to the alpha-2-delta subunit of voltage-gated calcium channels in the central nervous system. This reduces release of excitatory neurotransmitters and decreases abnormal nerve signal transmission, thereby relieving neuropathic pain and reducing seizure tendency.

How to take Pregaba 50 Capsule

Oral capsule. Take exactly as prescribed, with or without food, preferably at the same time each day. Swallow whole with water; do not crush or chew. Dose is usually titrated gradually; do not stop suddenly—taper as advised to avoid withdrawal symptoms.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

If you miss a dose of Pregaba 50 Capsule, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

An overdose of this medicine can cause deep drowsiness, confusion, unsteadiness and slowed breathing, especially with an opioid or alcohol. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

Pregaba 50 Capsule should be taken exactly as per the dose and duration prescribed by your doctor. It may cause sleepiness. Do not drive or perform any activity that requires concentration until you know how it affects you. It may cause blurring or loss of vision. Inform your doctor immediately if you notice any changes in your vision. Inform your doctor if you develop any unusual changes in mood or behavior, new or worsening depression, or suicidal thoughts or behavior. Do not stop taking the medication suddenly. This can lead to withdrawal symptoms such as anxiety, agitation, insomnia, and, in some cases, seizures. Avoid alcohol completely while taking this medication. Combining it with alcohol can significantly depress the central nervous system. This leads to excessive sedation, impaired coordination, and respiratory depression (slowed or shallow breathing).
