Composition of Rabekind Plus Tablet

Rabekind Plus Tablet contains Rabeprazole 20 mg + Domperidone 30 mg (Sustained/Prolonged release). It belongs to the Proton Pump Inhibitor (Rabeprazole) + Dopamine D2 receptor antagonist prokinetic (Domperidone SR) class of medicines.

How Rabekind Plus Tablet works

Rabeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor that reduces stomach acid by blocking the H+/K+ ATPase pump in gastric parietal cells. Domperidone is a peripheral dopamine (D2) receptor antagonist that improves gastric motility and helps relieve nausea/vomiting, thereby reducing reflux symptoms.

How to take Rabekind Plus Tablet

Take as prescribed by a doctor. Commonly taken once daily, 15–30 minutes before food (usually before breakfast). Swallow the tablet/capsule whole; do not crush or chew (especially SR/PR domperidone component).

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

Take it as soon as you remember. If your next dose is almost due, skip the one you missed — never take two doses together to catch up.

If you take too much

An overdose of this medicine may cause confusion, blurred vision, sweating and a fast heartbeat. It can cause drowsiness, disorientation and abnormal muscle movements. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

Side effects of Rabekind Plus Tablet

Most side effects of Rabekind Plus are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

• dry mouth
• abdominal pain
• diarrhoea
• constipation
• nausea
• flatulence
• weakness

Stop the medicine and seek help immediately for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.

Safety advice for Rabekind Plus Tablet

Warnings and precautions

Not for immediate relief of acute heartburn. Domperidone may increase risk of QT prolongation/serious heart rhythm problems—use with caution in elderly, heart disease, electrolyte imbalance, and avoid if known prolonged QT/arrhythmias. Avoid in moderate–severe liver impairment; caution in kidney disease. Long-term PPI use may cause low magnesium/vitamin B12, increased fracture risk, and may increase risk of C. difficile diarrhoea; seek care for persistent diarrhoea, severe abdominal pain, black stools, or vomiting blood. Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration.

Do not take Rabekind Plus if

Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Not for people with bleeding, blockage or perforation of the gut, or with certain heart rhythm disorders.

Interactions with other medicines

Domperidone: strong CYP3A4 inhibitors (ketoconazole, itraconazole, clarithromycin, erythromycin, ritonavir) and other QT-prolonging drugs (amiodarone, sotalol, quinolones, antipsychotics) increase arrhythmia risk. Rabeprazole: may reduce absorption of drugs needing acidic pH (ketoconazole, itraconazole, posaconazole, iron salts); may affect levels/effects of warfarin, methotrexate (high dose), digoxin; caution with clopidogrel (possible reduced activation).

How to store Rabekind Plus Tablet

Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place. Protect from light and moisture. Keep in original blister pack and out of reach of children.

Expert advice for Rabekind Plus Tablet

Take it before breakfast, not after a meal. Eat smaller meals, avoid late dinners, raise the head of your bed and avoid smoking — these do as much as the tablet for reflux. Take it shortly before meals for bloating and early fullness. Sip fluids frequently in small amounts, and use oral rehydration salts if you have been vomiting.
