How Stadflow D Tablet works

Stadflow-D Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Tamsulosin and Dutasteride, which relieves the symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia. Tamsulosin is an alpha-blocker. It works by relaxing the muscle around the bladder exit and prostate gland so as to allow easy passage of urine. Dutasteride is a 5-alpha-reductase inhibitor, which helps in shrinking the prostate gland by decreasing the level of the hormone that helps the prostate gland grow.

How to take Stadflow D Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Stadflow-D Tablet may be taken with or without food.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

If you miss a dose of Stadflow-D Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

If you take too much

An overdose of this medicine may be harmful — seek medical advice immediately. It can cause a fall in blood pressure and a racing heart when far too much is applied to the skin. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

Most side effects of Stadflow D are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

Warnings and precautions

This is a prescription-only medicine. Take it exactly as your doctor has directed, for the period directed. Do not share it with anyone else, even if their symptoms seem the same. Tell your doctor about every other medicine, supplement and herbal product you take. Report any unexpected or severe symptom to your doctor rather than stopping on your own. Topical minoxidil causes a burst of shedding in the first two to eight weeks. This is the old hair making way for new — it is expected, not a failure. Results take three to six months, and stop when you stop. This is a continuing treatment, not a cure. Finasteride must not be handled or taken by anyone who is pregnant or could become pregnant — it causes birth defects. Do not let a pregnant person handle broken or crushed tablets. Apply topical treatments to a dry scalp, not to hair, and wash your hands afterwards. Tell your doctor about any chest pain, dizziness, rapid heartbeat or sudden weight gain with minoxidil.

Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Your doctor will confirm this medicine is suitable for you. Not for use on inflamed, broken or sunburnt scalp.

Interactions with other medicines

Give your doctor and pharmacist a full list of everything you take. Avoid applying other scalp products at the same time of day unless advised.

How to store Stadflow D Tablet

Store at room temperature (below 25°C), protect from moisture and light. Keep out of reach of children.

Expert advice for Stadflow D Tablet

Take it approximately 30 minutes after the same meal each day. Stadflow-D Tablet may cause dizziness or blurring of vision. Do not drive or do anything requiring concentration until you know how it affects you. To lower the chance of feeling dizzy or passing out, rise slowly if you have been sitting or lying down. If you are scheduled to undergo an eye surgery due to cataract or glaucoma, inform your eye doctor about the usage of Stadflow-D Tablet. It may cause difficulty achieving or maintaining an erection (impotence), decreased sex drive, and ejaculation disorders such as decreased amount of semen produced or decreased sperm count. Do not donate blood for 6 months after taking the last dose of Stadflow-D Tablet.
