How Tamstream works

Tamstream 0.4mg Tablet is an alpha blocker. It works by relaxing the muscles around the bladder exit and prostate gland so urine is passed more easily. This helps empty the bladder and reduces the need to pass urine frequently or urgently in benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).

How to take Tamstream

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Tamstream 0.4mg Tablet may be taken with or without food.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

If you miss a dose of Tamstream 0.4mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

If you take too much

Taking more Tamstream than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.

Side effects of Tamstream

Most side effects of Tamstream are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

Interactions with other medicines

How to store Tamstream

Store Tamstream below 30°C in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep the pack tightly closed and out of the reach of children. Do not use it after the expiry date printed on the pack.

Expert advice for Tamstream

Tamstream 0.4mg Tablet helps in relieving the symptoms of an enlarged prostate. It does not decrease the size of the prostate. Tamstream 0.4mg Tablet must be taken with food. You will feel better within hours or days of starting the treatment. The full effect is usually seen within 2 weeks. Tamstream 0.4mg Tablet may cause dizziness or sleepiness. Do not drive or do anything requiring concentration until you know how it affects you. If you are scheduled to undergo an eye surgery due to cataract or glaucoma, inform your eye doctor about the usage of Tamstream 0.4mg Tablet. Inform your doctor if you have ever been diagnosed with kidney or liver problems.
