Use caution in head injury/increased intracranial pressure, seizure disorders, liver/kidney impairment, hypotension, biliary disease, and history of substance use disorder. May cause withdrawal in newborn if used long-term during pregnancy. Keep out of reach of children.
Do not take Tapal ER if
Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Not for people with an active stomach ulcer, severe kidney or heart failure, or asthma triggered by aspirin or anti-inflammatory painkillers. Not in the third trimester of pregnancy.
Interactions with other medicines
Alcohol and other CNS depressants (benzodiazepines, sedatives, hypnotics, antipsychotics, other opioids), MAO inhibitors (contraindicated/avoid within 14 days), serotonergic drugs (SSRIs/SNRIs/TCAs/triptans/linezolid) and drugs affecting norepinephrine (risk of serotonin syndrome/adrenergic effects), strong CYP inducers/inhibitors may alter exposure, mixed agonist/antagonist opioids (may reduce effect/precipitate withdrawal)
