Tapentadol extended-release 100 mg
Management of moderate to severe chronic pain requiring continuous, around-the-clock opioid analgesia for an extended period (e.g., chronic musculoskeletal/neuropathic pain) when alternative treatment options are inadequate.
Tapentadol is a centrally acting analgesic with dual action: it is a mu-opioid receptor agonist and inhibits norepinephrine reuptake. This reduces pain signal transmission and modulates descending inhibitory pain pathways.
Oral extended-release tablet. Take exactly as prescribed, usually every 12 hours; swallow whole with water (do not crush, break or chew). Can be taken with or without food; take at the same times each day. Do not stop suddenly without medical advice.
