Tenlip-M Tablet SR is used in the treatment of type 2 diabetes.

How Tenlip M Tablet works

Tenlip-M Tablet SR is a combination of two antidiabetic medicines: Metformin and Teneligliptin. Metformin is an antidiabetic medication (biguanide). It works by lowering glucose production in the liver, delaying glucose absorption from intestines and increasing the body's sensitivity to insulin. Teneligliptin is a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 inhibitor which works by increasing the release of insulin from pancreas and decreasing the hormones that raise blood sugar levels. This reduces both fasting and postmeal sugar levels. Together, they provide better control of blood sugar.

How to take Tenlip M Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Tenlip-M Tablet SR is to be taken with food.<br>Tenlip-M Tablet SR may cause stomach upset if taken on empty stomach.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

Take the missed dose of Tenlip M as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and carry on with the usual schedule. Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed dose.

If you take too much

Taking more Tenlip M than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.

Side effects of Tenlip M Tablet

Most side effects of Tenlip M are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

• Diarrhea Nausea Vomiting Stomach upset Headache Nasal congestion Sore throat Respiratory tract infection Hypoglycaemia (low blood sugar level) in combination with insulin or sulphonylurea

Stop the medicine and seek help immediately for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.
