How Torget 5 Tablet works

Torget 5 Tablet contains torsemide, a loop diuretic that works by blocking the reabsorption of sodium and chloride in the kidneys. This action increases urine production, helping the body eliminate excess salt and water. As a result, it reduces fluid buildup in tissues (edema) and decreases blood volume, which helps lower blood pressure and reduce the workload on the heart.

How to take Torget 5 Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Torget 5 Tablet may be taken with or without food.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

If you miss a dose of Torget 5 Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

If you take too much

Taking more Torget than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.

Take it in the morning with breakfast to avoid getting up at night to urinate. Monitor your blood pressure after starting Torget 5 Tablet, and notify your doctor if it does not lower down. Consult your doctor if you experience dizziness, tiredness, or muscle weakness that does not go away. Take potassium supplements or a potassium-rich diet (such as bananas, spinach, or coconut water) as Torget 5 Tablet can decrease your potassium levels and lead to dehydration. You may be asked to get regular blood tests done to monitor your kidney function.
