Vildagliptin (50mg)
Type 2 diabetes mellitus (as an adjunct to diet and exercise) to improve glycaemic control; used alone or in combination with other antidiabetic medicines as prescribed.
Vildagliptin is a DPP-4 inhibitor. It increases levels of incretin hormones (GLP-1 and GIP), which enhance glucose-dependent insulin release and reduce glucagon secretion, lowering blood sugar with low risk of hypoglycaemia when used alone.
Tablet for oral use. Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once or twice daily, with or without food. Swallow whole with water; take at the same time(s) each day. Do not stop without medical advice.

A substitute contains the same active ingredient (salt), in the same strength, as Vildanol 50 Tablet. The medicine inside is the same — the brand name, manufacturer and price are what differ.
All medicines sold in India, branded or generic, must meet the quality standards set by the national drug regulator (CDSCO). A lower price does not mean lower quality.
Please confirm with your doctor or pharmacist before switching brands — they will check that the strength and form match your prescription.
Prescription medicine (Schedule H). Not for type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis. Use with caution in liver disease; liver function tests may be advised and drug should be stopped if significant enzyme elevation or symptoms of hepatitis occur. Use caution/avoid in moderate to severe renal impairment depending on doctor’s advice. Rare but serious: pancreatitis (seek care for severe persistent abdominal pain), severe skin reactions, hypersensitivity/angioedema, severe joint pain. Monitor blood glucose and HbA1c regularly.
