Vildagliptin (50mg)
Type 2 diabetes mellitus: to improve glycaemic control as an adjunct to diet and exercise, alone or in combination with other antidiabetic medicines as prescribed.
Vildagliptin is a DPP-4 inhibitor that increases incretin hormones (GLP-1, GIP). This enhances glucose-dependent insulin secretion and reduces glucagon release, lowering blood glucose with a low risk of hypoglycaemia when used without insulin/sulfonylureas.
Oral tablet. Take exactly as prescribed, preferably at the same time each day; swallow whole with water (do not crush/chew, as it is SR). Can be taken with or without food unless your doctor advises otherwise.
Common side effects of Vildaray SR 50 Tab may include:

A substitute contains the same active ingredient (salt), in the same strength, as Vildaray SR 50 Tab. The medicine inside is the same — the brand name, manufacturer and price are what differ.
All medicines sold in India, branded or generic, must meet the quality standards set by the national drug regulator (CDSCO). A lower price does not mean lower quality.
Please confirm with your doctor or pharmacist before switching brands — they will check that the strength and form match your prescription.
Not for type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis. Monitor liver function; stop and seek medical advice if symptoms of hepatitis/jaundice occur. Use with caution in renal impairment and in elderly; dose adjustments may be needed. Rare risk of pancreatitis—seek urgent care for severe persistent abdominal pain (with/without vomiting). Hypoglycaemia risk increases if used with insulin or sulfonylureas. Inform doctor about history of heart failure, kidney disease, liver disease, or allergy to DPP-4 inhibitors.
