Vildagliptin (50mg)
Treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus to improve glycaemic control, as monotherapy or in combination with other antidiabetic medicines (e.g., metformin, sulfonylureas, insulin, thiazolidinediones) along with diet and exercise.
Vildagliptin is a DPP-4 inhibitor that increases levels of incretin hormones (GLP-1 and GIP). This enhances glucose-dependent insulin secretion and reduces glucagon release, lowering blood glucose with a low risk of hypoglycaemia when used alone.
Tablet for oral use. Take as prescribed by the doctor, usually 50 mg once or twice daily depending on regimen and combination therapy. Can be taken with or without food; take at the same time each day and do not stop without medical advice.

A substitute contains the same active ingredient (salt), in the same strength, as Vildarise 50MG Tab. The medicine inside is the same — the brand name, manufacturer and price are what differ.
All medicines sold in India, branded or generic, must meet the quality standards set by the national drug regulator (CDSCO). A lower price does not mean lower quality.
Please confirm with your doctor or pharmacist before switching brands — they will check that the strength and form match your prescription.
Not for type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis. Monitor liver function before starting and periodically; stop and seek medical advice if jaundice, dark urine, persistent nausea/vomiting or abdominal pain occur (risk of hepatitis). Use with caution in renal impairment; dose adjustment may be needed in moderate to severe kidney disease. Rare risk of pancreatitis—seek urgent care for severe persistent abdominal pain. Hypoglycaemia risk increases when combined with insulin or sulfonylureas. Inform doctor about history of heart failure, liver disease, kidney disease, or angioedema.
