Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

If you miss a dose of Vilmax Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

If you take too much

An overdose of this medicine may cause low blood sugar, particularly if you also take other diabetes medicines. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

Most side effects of Vilmax are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

Warnings and precautions

Stop and see a doctor urgently if you get severe, persistent abdominal pain that spreads to your back, with or without vomiting. Tell your doctor if you develop severe or disabling joint pain. Blisters or peeling of the skin should be reported promptly.

Do not take Vilmax if

Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Not for type 1 diabetes or for diabetic ketoacidosis.

Interactions with other medicines

Low blood sugar is more likely when this is combined with a sulfonylurea or insulin; your doctor may lower that dose.

How to store Vilmax Tablet

Store below 30°C in the original pack, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of the reach of children.

Vilmax Tablet should be taken at the same time every day since this helps you remember to take it. It may cause hypoglycemia (low blood sugar level) when used with other antidiabetic medicines, alcohol or if you delay or miss a meal. Always carry some sugary food or fruit juice with you in case you experience hypoglycemia symptoms such as cold sweats, cool pale skin, tremor and anxiety. Be careful while driving or operating machinery until you know how Vilmax Tablet affects you. Your doctor may check your kidney and liver function before starting treatment and regularly thereafter. Inform your doctor if you develop symptoms such as abdominal pain, fatigue, loss of appetite, darkened urine or yellowing of the eyes or skin (jaundice).
