Can worsen kidney function; caution in dehydration, elderly, kidney disease; monitor renal function with prolonged use. May affect liver—stop if jaundice or persistent abnormal LFTs. Avoid in active peptic ulcer/bleeding, severe heart failure, and in NSAID/aspirin allergy or asthma triggered by NSAIDs. Not recommended in last trimester of pregnancy; use caution in earlier pregnancy and during breastfeeding only on doctor advice.
Do not take Voveran SR if
Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Not for people with an active stomach ulcer, severe kidney or heart failure, or asthma triggered by aspirin or anti-inflammatory painkillers. Not in the third trimester of pregnancy.
Interactions with other medicines
Anticoagulants/antiplatelets (warfarin, apixaban, aspirin, clopidogrel), SSRIs/SNRIs (bleeding risk), corticosteroids (GI ulcer/bleed), other NSAIDs, methotrexate, lithium, antihypertensives (ACE inhibitors/ARBs, diuretics) and diuretics (reduced effect/renal risk), cyclosporine/tacrolimus (nephrotoxicity), digoxin, alcohol (GI bleed risk)
