Cefpodoxime proxetil 200 mg + Clavulanic acid 125 mg (per tablet)
Bacterial infections such as acute bacterial sinusitis, tonsillitis/pharyngitis, otitis media, acute exacerbation of chronic bronchitis, community-acquired pneumonia, skin and soft tissue infections, and uncomplicated urinary tract infections (as prescribed).
Cefpodoxime is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic that inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to bacterial death. Clavulanic acid is a beta-lactamase inhibitor that protects cefpodoxime from degradation by beta-lactamase–producing bacteria, improving coverage against resistant strains.
Oral tablet. Take exactly as prescribed, preferably with food to improve absorption and reduce stomach upset. Swallow whole with water; complete the full course even if you feel better.

Use only for suspected/confirmed bacterial infections. Inform your doctor if you have a history of allergy to cephalosporins/penicillins, severe kidney disease (dose adjustment may be needed), colitis or severe diarrhoea, or liver disease. Stop and seek medical help if you develop severe rash, breathing difficulty, swelling, or severe/persistent diarrhoea (risk of C. difficile-associated diarrhoea). May reduce effectiveness of oral typhoid vaccine. Use with caution in children/elderly as advised.
