Sitagliptin 50 mg + Metformin 500 mg (as Metformin Hydrochloride)

Uses of ZIOMET LIFE 50/500 TAB

Type 2 diabetes mellitus: to improve blood glucose control along with diet and exercise, when metformin alone is inadequate or as part of combination therapy.

• •Lowers fasting and post-meal blood sugar
• •Improves insulin sensitivity and reduces hepatic glucose output
• •Lowers HbA1c with complementary mechanisms
• •Lower hypoglycaemia risk compared to some combinations (unless used with insulin/sulfonylurea)

How it works

Sitagliptin is a DPP-4 inhibitor that increases incretin hormones (GLP-1, GIP), leading to increased insulin release and reduced glucagon in a glucose-dependent manner. Metformin decreases hepatic glucose production and improves peripheral insulin sensitivity, reducing blood glucose without usually causing hypoglycaemia when used alone.

Directions for use

Take orally as directed by a physician, usually with meals to reduce stomach upset. Swallow tablet whole with water; do not crush/chew unless advised. Take at the same time each day; dose is individualized based on glucose control and kidney function.
