Ondansetron 8 mg (mouth dissolving tablet)
Prevention and treatment of nausea and vomiting due to chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and post-operative nausea and vomiting
Ondansetron is a selective 5-HT3 (serotonin) receptor antagonist. It blocks serotonin receptors in the gut and in the brain’s vomiting center, reducing nausea and vomiting.
Mouth dissolving tablet: place on tongue and allow to dissolve; swallow saliva (water not required). Take as prescribed; may be taken with or without food. Do not chew or crush; handle with dry hands.
Common side effects of ZOFER MD 8 may include:
Use with caution in patients with prolonged QT interval, heart rhythm disorders, electrolyte imbalance (low potassium/magnesium), severe liver impairment, or bradyarrhythmias. Seek urgent care for palpitations, fainting, or severe dizziness. Risk of serotonin syndrome when used with other serotonergic medicines. Not for hypersensitivity to ondansetron/other 5-HT3 antagonists. May cause drowsiness in some patients—avoid driving if affected.
