Glimepiride 2 mg
Type 2 diabetes mellitus (to control blood glucose) when diet and exercise alone are insufficient; may be used alone or with other antidiabetic medicines as prescribed.
Glimepiride is a sulfonylurea that stimulates the pancreas to release insulin from beta cells. It also helps improve peripheral insulin sensitivity, lowering blood glucose levels.
Oral tablet. Take exactly as prescribed, usually once daily with breakfast or the first main meal; swallow with water. Do not skip meals after taking; monitor blood sugar regularly.
Common side effects of ZORYL-2 may include:
May cause hypoglycaemia—risk increases with missed meals, excessive exercise, alcohol, or with other antidiabetics. Use with caution in elderly, malnourished, renal or hepatic impairment; dose adjustment/close monitoring may be needed. Not for type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis. Inform doctor if you have G6PD deficiency, allergies to sulfonylureas/sulfonamides, or if undergoing surgery/acute illness. Avoid driving/operating machinery if symptoms of low sugar occur.
