Composition of Zoryl Mf 3

Zoryl Mf 3 contains Glimepiride 3 mg + Metformin hydrochloride (modified/extended release) 500 mg. It belongs to the Sulfonylurea + Biguanide (combination) class of medicines.

How Zoryl Mf 3 works

Glimepiride (a sulfonylurea) increases insulin release from pancreatic beta cells and improves insulin action. Metformin reduces glucose production by the liver and improves insulin sensitivity, decreasing intestinal glucose absorption and improving peripheral uptake.

How to take Zoryl Mf 3

Oral tablet. Take exactly as prescribed, usually once daily with or immediately after the main meal (often breakfast) to reduce stomach upset and risk of low sugar. Swallow whole (do not crush/chew if modified-release). Monitor blood glucose regularly.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

Take the missed dose of Zoryl Mf as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and carry on with the usual schedule. Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed dose.

If you take too much

Taking more Zoryl Mf than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.

Side effects of Zoryl Mf 3

Most side effects of Zoryl Mf are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

• Hypoglycaemia
• nausea
• vomiting
• diarrhoea
• abdominal pain
• loss of appetite
• metallic taste
• headache
• dizziness
• weight gain
• rash

Stop the medicine and seek help immediately for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.

Safety advice for Zoryl Mf 3

Warnings and precautions

Risk of hypoglycaemia (especially with missed meals, alcohol, heavy exercise, elderly, renal/hepatic impairment); metformin-associated lactic acidosis risk—avoid in severe kidney disease, severe liver disease, hypoxia, sepsis, dehydration. Check kidney function before and during therapy. Temporarily stop metformin for major surgery or iodinated contrast procedures as advised by doctor. Use caution in heart failure, alcohol use disorder, and in patients with vitamin B12 deficiency (long-term metformin).

Interactions with other medicines

Alcohol (increases hypoglycaemia/lactic acidosis risk), iodinated contrast media, insulin/other antidiabetics (additive hypoglycaemia), sulfonamide antibiotics, fluoroquinolones, beta-blockers (mask hypoglycaemia), corticosteroids and thiazide diuretics (raise glucose), ACE inhibitors (may increase hypoglycaemia), cimetidine (may increase metformin levels), NSAIDs (may increase hypoglycaemia)

How to store Zoryl Mf 3

Store below 25°C in a dry place, protected from moisture and light. Keep in original blister pack and out of reach of children.
