Self-monitoring of blood glucose (SMBG) in people with diabetes; helps check fasting, pre/post-meal, and random blood sugar as advised by a doctor

The meter measures glucose in a small drop of capillary blood applied to a compatible test strip. The strip’s enzyme-based electrochemical reaction generates an electrical signal proportional to glucose concentration, which the meter converts to a reading.

Use only with compatible Contour Plus test strips. Wash and dry hands, insert strip into meter, use lancing device to obtain a small fingertip blood drop, touch blood to strip tip and wait for result. Follow the user manual for coding (if applicable), target ranges, and cleaning; use as often as advised by your doctor.

Finger prick pain, minor bleeding, bruising, skin irritation, local infection (rare)

For in-vitro diagnostic self-testing use. Use only the specified compatible test strips; expired/damaged strips can give wrong results. Incorrect technique, contaminated hands, or insufficient blood may affect accuracy. Readings may be affected in certain conditions (e.g., dehydration, shock, severe illness, abnormal hematocrit) as per user manual—consult a clinician if results don’t match symptoms. Use a new sterile lancet each time; do not share lancing device to reduce infection risk. Dispose lancets/strips safely in a sharps container.

Some substances/conditions can interfere with glucose readings depending on strip chemistry (refer to pack insert/user manual); inform your doctor about medicines/supplements if readings are unexpected

Store meter at room temperature away from moisture and direct heat. Store test strips in original vial, tightly closed, at room temperature; protect from humidity, heat, and sunlight. Do not refrigerate strips unless label instructs; do not use beyond expiry.
