Inderal F 5 Tablet SR is used for preventive treatment of migraine.

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Inderal F 5 Tablet is to be taken empty stomach.

Inderal F 5 Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Propranolol and Flunarizine, which prevents migraine.\tPropranolol is a beta blocker and Flunarizine is a calcium channel blocker. They work by stabilizing the reactive nerve cells and increasing the threshold to migraine activation. They also inhibit cortical spreading depression (csd- electric waves that move across the brain and cause pain and inflammation).

Do not stop this medicine suddenly without asking your doctor. This medicine causes drowsiness. Do not drive or operate machinery until you know how it affects you. Report any change in mood, sleep or behaviour. Never stop this medicine suddenly. Stopping abruptly can cause a sharp rise in blood pressure, worsening chest pain or a heart attack — your doctor will reduce it gradually. Tell your doctor if you have asthma or long-standing lung disease; this group can tighten the airways. If you have diabetes, be aware that this medicine can mask the early warning signs of low blood sugar, apart from sweating. Report a resting pulse that is persistently very slow, or fainting.
