Tonoferon Drops

Tonoferon Drops contains Folic Acid (200u/ml) + Iron (25mg) + Lysine (200u/1g) + Vitamin B12 (5u/1g).

Prevention and treatment of iron deficiency and iron deficiency anemia (commonly in infants/children); nutritional supplementation when dietary iron intake is inadequate.

Iron replenishes body iron stores and is required for hemoglobin synthesis, helping improve oxygen-carrying capacity of blood. Supplementation corrects iron deficiency and supports normal red blood cell production.

Oral drops. Use the dose advised by a doctor (often based on age/weight). May be given with or after food; if stomach upset occurs, give with meals. Avoid giving with milk/tea/coffee; vitamin C/fruit juice may improve absorption. Use the provided dropper; do not exceed recommended dose.

Nausea, stomach upset, abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhea, dark/black stools, metallic taste, teeth staining (with liquid iron)

Use only if prescribed for infants/children; overdose of iron can be dangerous—keep out of reach of children. Use with caution in patients with iron overload (hemochromatosis/hemosiderosis), hemolytic anemia, repeated blood transfusions, active peptic ulcer/IBD. Liquid iron may stain teeth—give towards back of mouth and rinse mouth after. Seek medical help for accidental overdose or severe vomiting, abdominal pain, or blood in stools.

Reduced absorption with antacids, calcium, dairy products; reduced absorption with tetracyclines and fluoroquinolones (separate by 2-4 hours); may reduce absorption of levothyroxine, bisphosphonates, penicillamine, methyldopa/levodopa (separate dosing).

Store at room temperature (below 25°C), tightly closed, protected from light and moisture. Do not freeze. Keep out of reach of children.
